Field Notes at J. Crew\'s Liquor Store Tribeca Men\'s Shop

We can’t think of a better place to purchase/use FIELD NOTES than a liquor store, and J. Crew has made our dream a reality. Their LIQUOR STORE Tribeca Men’s Shop is located in a historic former liquor store and tavern at 235 West Broadway, NYC. The old neon sign, bar, and fixtures) remain intact, a perfect backdrop for J. Crew’s finest menswear and accessories, along with vintage LPs, knickknacks, and FIELD NOTES. Be sure to check out the photos, it’s an amazing space.

Welcome to the team, LIQUOR STORE, we’re glad you found a place for our humble notebooks in your handsomely tasteful establishment.

The Land of the Midnight Sun

October 8th, 2008 by Aaron James Draplin

\

This retail location opening is a special one for me. See, I spent four dastardly summers in Anchorage in the late ’90s working the dishpits and stovetops of a sightseeing train. You know, golden oldies “seeing the Alaska interior” all the way up to Fairbanks and back. That was the deal.

On my days off, I’d race around town on my bike hitting up the record store, scavenging the thrift stores and stocking up on art supplies for the next “run” up to Fairbanks. I had an orbit for my days off.

Anchorage has everything the rest of the world has, only in smaller doses. It was a little more of a hunt to find whatever sweaty little item I was trying to track down, and I miss those subtle rewards.

I’m proud as hell the good Alaskans of the Dos Manos Gallery believe in Field Notes enough to carry them in their shop. Thank you.

With Field Notes on the scene up there, we’re hoping they “do the job right” for all those hard-asses up there who make the “Land of the Midnight Sun” their home.

Philly’d Notes

September 19th, 2008 by Bryan Bedell

\"Let Freedom Ring!\"

Pardon the obscure quote, my only exposure to Philadelphia is the Dead Milkmen and this Ween gem. Anyways, we’re really happy to announce our newest retailer, Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction, which is a really sweet online clothing store opening a storefront (116 North 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106, 215.922.2600) in November. So check ‘em out, They don’t have any Def Leppard or Mötley Crüe shirts, but I bet you can find a shirt you like, and Field Notes. For America.

If you’re not in Philadelphia, there are 22 other shops waiting to instantly gratify you, and there’s always our online sales center.

New: Chicago “WILL-CALL” window

September 3rd, 2008 by Bryan Bedell

Come visit Jen

The other day, someone called to ask if we sell FIELD NOTES at our Chicago HQ to save the cost of shipping. We said, “Sure, come on over.” Then we quietly added our address to the “Retail Locations” page and got another call five minutes later. It was what they call a “‘duh’ moment.”

Our FIELD NOTES distribution center ain’t as pretty as the other boutiques and small-engine-repair shops that sell our product, but if you don’t mind a couple flights of stairs, we’d be happy to sell you some. Our address is 400 N. May Street, Suite 301 (buzz up and let us know you’re here for FIELD NOTES). and our phone number is 312-243-1107. We’re here weekdays from 9am-4:30pm (closed Holidays) and we accept cash or credit cards.

If you’d like to speed things up even faster, order online and select “Local Pickup (Chicago)” as your shipping option:

Your FIELD NOTES will be here, paid, packed, and waiting for you, with no shipping charges. The same offer stands for everything in the Coudal Partners Shop, including Jewelboxing.

Art and Commerce

Field Notes in Museums
What honor could be more prestigious than seeing your work on display in a museum? To be honest, curators aren’t lighting up our switchboard, but museum gift shop managers sure are, and we’re happy to stand balanced on that fine line between art and commerce. FIELD NOTES are on the way to Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego’s X Stores, the London Design Museum’s Shop, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles’ shops, and they’re already in stock at many other fine retailers worldwide. How about YOUR shop?

Special offer: Order 4 or more 3-packs before midnight Saturday, and we’ll pay for one of ‘em. Use coupon code MUSEUMQUALITY.

Two New Retail Locations: Toronto, Ontario and Toronto, Ontario

July 25th, 2008 by Aaron James Draplin

\"Hogtown\"

We’ve a got a couple new Retail Locations to announce today.

Come with us, as we go international. Our destination for the day: Toronto, Canada!

After some time we get to the border. The line to get in is long and we wait patiently for our entry. We’ve got our papers and passports ready. Of course, we get heckled by overeager customs fuzz, and then after much scrutiny, barely cross over to the Great North and over to “Hogtown,” also known as, “Toronto, Canada.”

Our first stop is at a shop called Handwritings. Right next to the striking Exchange Tower, which is home to the Canadian stock exchange. We’d like to think all those movers and shakers on the trading floor are using Field Notes to keep Canada on the right track. And hey, Husky Energy is traded there, and, man, we love that logo.

For our second stop, we go directly inside the Exchange Tower! The good Canadians of Sleuth and Statesmen are carrying us too. Get a load of that joint. Just to think about Field Notes bumping elbows with ornate, smokey cigar boxes fires us way up.

Thank you, Toronto. Keep Canada strong!

New Retail Location: Canton, Ohio

July 18th, 2008 by Aaron James Draplin

New Retail Location: \"Canton, Ohio\"

We’re proud to announce a new retail location to our growing roster of “thriving businesses believing in Field Notes.”

We’re talking about Canton, Ohio, which is pretty-much known for its “Home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame,” which, for some amazing reason, has one hell of a logo even today. Love those thick lines, fellas. So the next time you are in Canton, and once you’ve checked out all the city has to offer, make sure you stop at Muggswigz to get a cup of delicious, energy-giving coffee and then stock up on some Field Notes for the next leg of your journey. Thank you, Canton.

We’ll be in soon to service the account and get some handshake. Much appreciated.

Instant gratification, sweeping the nation.

June 30th, 2008 by Bryan Bedell

If you’re a FIELD NOTES anorak, you may have noticed our new list of FIELD NOTES retailers. It’s up there in the navigation bar, for future reference. Buy in person for instant gratification and save on shipping, too!. We’re hoping to keep Draplin busy adding white dots to that map, and it’s hard to picture a shop where a stack of well-crafted, Made-in-the-U.S.A. memo books wouldn’t fit in. If you’d like to add FIELD NOTES to your inventory let Michele know. If you’d like to see FIELD NOTES in your favorite shop, let Michele know. If you have a Dusk Rose ‘67 Mustang hardtop for sale at a reasonable price, let Michele know.
