Foiled Again
“Like kids in the proverbial candy store, the mad scientists over at Field Notes seem to take special pleasure in dreaming up new printing, finishing and binding combinations for their quarterly editions.” Yes, we sure do. Thanks to Paper Specs for their technical rundown of our current Quarterly Edition, Black Ice, in their Uncategorically Good Stuff blog.
WORN WELL
Dzul writes, “Working in the marine and offshore industry meant that I needed a notebook that was waterproof and tear resistant while being able to fit in the breast pocket of my coveralls. Then I stumbled upon the Field Notes Expedition. Prior to this I haven’t even heard of Field Notes... And boy was it the perfect notebook. One month in, when other notebooks would have torn, ink smudged and in general, just destroyed, the Expedition has held up beautifully.” Thanks for that. Dzul has also started a Tumblr dedicated to showing off well-used Field Notes. Contribute yours so we can see them when they’re beat up a bit. They look best that way.
Spring is coming
We have just about finished pre-production and we’re psyched about heading to press with this edition. Without giving anything away, we’re pretty sure you’ll find these quite useful.
WE GO ROUND IN CIRCLES
We made this fun film at HQ, using motion control and featuring multiple Trinas, to recap the editions that went out to subscribers in 2016. By every metric, last year was our most successful ever. Thanks for purchasing and subscribing to Sweet Tooth, Byline, Lunacy, and Black Ice. If you prefer to analyze your purchases and calculate your savings from 2016 in a spreadsheet, we’ve got you covered there too.
Just about THE ONLY TIME WE’VE BEEN able to help a kid with their math homework
Samuel writes, “I’m an 8th grade student in Burbank, CA. As I have six classes who all want me to carry a huge spiral notebook, I’ve lately been getting a little tired of my heavy backpack. Then I remembered that my sister had gotten me some of these cool little notebooks for Christmas last year, so I decided to give them a try. Boy was I right to! Now my backpack is not only incredibly light, but everybody comments on how unique my Field Notes are.” Thank for showing your work Samuel.
