You Know, For Kids
Once again, we’re the title sponsor of The Morning News Tournament of Books that tips off in March. We’re making our way through the books in this, the 14th edition of this literary cage-match, and hope you are too.
From TMN: “In case you’re new to all this, the ToB is an annual springtime event here at The Morning News, where a group of the best works of fiction from last year enter a March Madness-style battle royale. In March, these novels will be seeded and paired off in an NCAA Tournament-like bracket. For each pairing, one of our esteemed judges will read both novels and advance one, with a transparent explanation of how they made their decision.”
Check this Brief History of the Tournament of Books.
A Little Help Please
We’ve made a small batch of special manila-kraft Memo Books, with the ToB mascot on the cover and a checklist of the tournament books on the inside.
Buy one of these for $3 and we’ll add $3 of our own, and then donate $6 to 826 National, a seven-chapter network that provides under-resourced students, ages 6-18 with opportunities to explore their creativity and improve their writing skills.
In 2017 we raised over $8600 for 826. Together let’s do a lot better this year!
