These Pair Nicely
Sheet Music
As part of the Field Notes process, we always visit the printer for a “press check,” to inspect final printed sheets as they come off the printer. Our covers are usually printed on a sheet-fed printing press. Depending on the paper size, book size, the artwork, and other specifications, there are generally 12-20 covers per sheet.
We always bring a stack of uncut press sheets back to the office and save one in our archives for reference, and frequently offer the extras for sale in our Chicago HQ Shop. Some of the press sheets aren’t really suitable for framing; they often get chopped up before embossing or foil stamping, and sometimes there are a few different jobs on one sheet.
Wilco × Field Notes × 3 × 2
The sheets that make up the covers of the six Memo Books in the Wilco × Field Notes Box Set are really sweet. Each of the two 25"x38" sheets features six impressions of three of the covers on beautiful French Construction 100#C “Grout Gray,” with a thick 3-color application of red, blue, and yellow spot inks. The two sheets look fabulous together so we're keeping them that way. Get both, mailed in a sturdy tube for $95 and U.S.A. shipping is free.
We posted four of them somewhere west of Western Avenue and then set aside the rest of the sheets so we could make them available at HQ and online, and here they are, suitable for framing and display in your recording studio, rehearsal space, or dive bar.
