Once again, we’re the title sponsor of The Morning New Tournament of Books. The competitors and judges have been announced and we all have some serious reading to do to get ready for this annual literary cage match. We’ll be creating a special Memo Book for the tourney and be raising funds for 826 National, an amazing seven-chapter network that provides under-resourced students, ages 6-18 with opportunities to explore their creativity and improve their writing skills. Stay tuned for all the details soon.
BOOTS ON THE GROUND
Back in 1911, Leon Leonwood Bean asked a local cobbler to sew leather uppers to workmen’s rubber boots and the Bean Boot was born. For our second collaboration with our friends at L.L. Bean, we pay homage to this iconic boot, which is still hand-stitched, one pair at a time, in Maine.
Our Bean Boot Memo Books are half light brown and half dark brown, representing the leather uppers and rubber bottoms of the boots. The stitching is shown with white ink on an embossed stitch pattern. And on each cover, you’ll find a small, white, embossed outline of the boot. The Bean Boot 3-Packs is only available in L.L. Bean stores. Find the location nearest you and pick one up today.
PRACTICAL MATTERS
The launch of our Quarterly Limited-Edition for Spring is just a few weeks away. Aside from being awesome, we’re sure everyone will find it useful, and subscribers especially so. Now would be a good time to get on board with a year-long subscription. In a rare occurrence of pre-planning, we already know what we’re doing for the summer release too. And judging by the emails, posts and tweets we’ve read throughout the years, many of you have been waiting for that one. Also, later this spring one of our most popular products is getting a very cool upgrade.
WAY-BACK MACHINE
Just because. A review from NOTCOT from 2007! And here are some some wise words from Jack London.
