One of the most important (and fun) parts of creating any Quarterly Edition is naming it. Sometimes the name comes first and inspires the creative process. Other times the name emerges from the design. In rare cases the name is so obvious and appropriate that the working title never changes. This looked to be one of those cases. – Nov. 21st, 2019

“People sometimes ask me why I don’t use a phone to take notes when I’m ‘out’ in the field. The answer is that phones smash, while notebooks bend. I also like the way that notebooks record where they’ve been not just in terms of what’s written in them, but also in terms of the wear they bear as objects.” – Nov. 21st, 2019
