These Pair Nicely
Will Work For Beer
Here at Field Notes, we generally restrict our adventuring to note books and accessories. So when we started talking to Solemn Oath Brewery about developing a beer together, it seemed a little over-our-heads. Then, at our first meeting, we discovered that developing a beer starts with drinking a bunch of other beers. Turns out, we’re pretty good at that, and Solemn Oath are an absolute joy to work with.
We took some notes and got to work on our dream beer: a tasty, refreshing Chicago summer “Lawn Chair Ale.” We settled on a name that described it perfectly: “A Charming Beer.” Solemn Oath immediately got to work on the science of actually brewing the stuff while we worked with them to design the cans and, naturally, some matching Field Notes Memo Books.
The Field Notes “A Charming Ale” 2-Pack, features one book with the script logo on one back cover, and our already-famous red-and-white lawn chair on the other. Both are printed in red, black, and white on our classic kraft cover, over a background of lawn chair webbing. 48 pages of graph paper are bound inside with copper staples.
The beer and books are only available only for a limited time. If you’re in Chicago, or visiting this summer, we really hope you’ll get a chance to crush a couple Charmers.
The more you enjoy, the charminger you get.
Turns out there there are all kinds of rules that govern the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages, so we can’t sell you the beer. You can order it for pickup — or try it on tap — at Solemn Oath in Naperville or Chicago. A Charming Beer 4-Pack of 16oz Cans PLUS a 2-Pack of Field Notes Memo Books are also available now at these select locations:
