30th Anniversary Busy Beaver 3-Pack + 1" FN Button

It’s no secret that Field Notes ♥︎s Busy Beaver.

For many years, we’ve shared employees, equipment, beers, and projects with Busy Beaver Buttons & Merch. Our very first promotional item, way back in 2009, was the “FN-11 1-Inch Button,” which was included with thousands of orders in our early years, printed on the same “Packing Brown Wrap” stock as our covers. Since then, the denizens of “the Dam” have made countless other Field Notes buttons, stickers and subscriber bonuses.

Lucky for them, we’re not their only customer. Founder Christen Carter got things started in her dorm room in 1995, making “Alien Lanes” buttons for Guided by Voices. It’s not even worth trying to list all the amazing bands, artists, labels, companies, people, animals, and organizations they‘ve worked with since; it‘s basically everyone. We’re thrilled to celebrate Busy Beaver’s 30th anniversary with this limited-edition 3-Pack featuring a selection of treasures from their amazing Button Museum. Each book represents a category from the collection: one cover is all “I♥︎” slogans, one is all smiley faces, and the third is self-referential buttons (including FN-11!). All are printed on 16pt C1S stock in full color. So much color, in fact, that we couldn't figure out how to make the cover text and logos stand out, so we turned to MGI dimensional foil, a digital foil that simulates embossing. Not content with plain-old silver, we used pearly-rainbow holographic foil. Suffice to say, they‘re colorful.

The rest of the book is the Field Notes you know and love: 48 pages of our original “Double Knee Duck Canvas Light Brown” graph on 60# Domtar Lynx Opaque stock. The inside cover features a light ”pinback” background and button-appropriate Practical Applications.

We have a limited number of these 3-Packs, so just two packs per household please. And hey: if your “FN-11 1-Inch Button” fell off your backpack before you’d even heard the words “Justin Bieber,” it’s all good, we’ll include one of those with every 3-Pack.
