We teamed up with Chicago’s Empty Bottle, one of the city’s grimiest and most-beloved music venues, to bring you this limited-edition 3-Pack of memo books.
The Empty Bottle has hosted many of the greatest local, national, and global musical acts of the last 25+ years and cemented its reputation as one of Chicago’s most important music venues. Along with musical artists, the club has worked with countless visual artists and printmakers to create “gig posters” to promote shows and events.
Each 3-Pack of Empty Bottle FIELD NOTES includes one memo book made from an actual cut-down Empty Bottle gig poster, foil-stamped with Field Notes and Empty Bottle logos. A flysheet inside features a short history of the club and a list of visual artists who contributed posters.
We used a variety of hundreds of different Empty Bottle posters made by dozens of artists, covering many years of Empty Bottle events. Colors, paper stocks, designs, and print techniques vary. Some feature identifiable text and images, others are more subtle and cryptic. Your pack(s) will be selected randomly, we are unable to honor any special requests.
The other two books in the 3-Pack are cut from a colorful Field-Notes-designed collage featuring photos from inside “The Bottle” (creepy/wonderful baby-doll heads, a police car door, band stickers, and more), with a variety of old Empty Bottle logos on the back to give you that classic “Bottle” feel.
