Hope you’re all staying safe. Like everyone, we’re working from home and safely doing staggered shifts at HQ. Our online store is open, and we’d truly appreciate it if you’d purchase some Field Notes.
Introductions and Some Fun
We figured since we all have time on our hands these days, it would be fun to get to know each other a little better and also give away some cool stuff. We’ll have the big man go first.
“Hello! My name is Aaron James Draplin, I’m 46 and a graphic designer working and living in Portland, Oregon. I make logos for everything from bands to festivals to restaurants. I started Field Notes with my older brother Jim Coudal in 2005, and we’re up to our 46th seasonal edition! I travel the globe telling my story through full-throated speaking fiascos and go-for-broke workshops. I’m working on a new Skillshare class for April while at home now. There’s always new DDC merch coming out, be it spirited collabs (Timex, Rumpl) or any of the 245 proud items in our roster.”
“My better half is a beam of light named Leigh and she does all the shipping of DDC merch, as well as making nasties for her Notes To Self project.”
“When the day’s work is done, I fill my time with playing guitar, listening to records, building Lego creations, reading, watching documentaries and cutting down cardboard for recycling.”
NOW HERE’S YOUR PART
Say hello back by posting a selfie of you holding a Field Notes product and tell us a little about yourself. Be sure add the tag #HelloFieldNotes to your post. Or send it to [email protected] We’ll collect all the entries we receive and see on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, and randomly choose three winners. We will send each winner a rare, out-of-print Field Notes Edition from our archives.
Today’s Prizes
Today’s winners get a complete set of both “Drink Local” 3-Packs from the Fall of 2013, including the 6-Pack Carrying Case and hand-letter-pressed coasters. Tomorrow, another one of us will say hello, and announce the winners and what the next prize is.
It’s nice to meet you.
