To the Brackets, Once Again
Once again, we’re the title sponsor of The Morning News Tournament of Books that runs during March. We’re making our way through the books in this, the 20th Edition (!) of this literary cage-match, and hope you are too.
From TMN: “In case you’re new to all this, the ToB is an annual springtime event here at The Morning News, where a group of the best works of fiction from last year enter a March Madness-style battle royale. In March, these novels will be seeded and paired off in an NCAA Tournament-like bracket. For each pairing, one of our esteemed judges will read both novels and advance one, with a transparent explanation of how they made their decision.”
You can find the competing books and judges here and also, check this Brief History of the Tournament of Books.
A Little Help Please
We’ve made a small batch of sweet Memo Books with the ToB mascot on the cover. Inside you‘ll find 48 pages of graph paper along with a checklist of the tournament books on the inside back cover.
Buy one or more of these for $5 each and we’ll donate the profits to 826 National, a nine-chapter network that provides under-resourced students, ages 6-18 with opportunities to explore their creativity and improve their writing skills. Give us a hand please. You know, for kids.
