Hello Matt

Hope you’re all staying safe. Like everyone, we’re rolling with the changes these days. Our online store is open, and we’d truly appreciate it if you’d purchase some Field Notes.   

Introductions and Some Fun

We figured since we all have time on our hands these days, it would be fun to get to know each other a little better and also give away some cool stuff. Take it away Matt.

“Hello! My name is Matthew, and I work at Field Notes. I do a little bit of everything there, but these days I am primarily focused on design. I’ve been with the company for 10 years, which feels like a lifetime. In a good way.”

“When I’m not at Field Notes I am: playing beer league hockey; doing hand-poked tattoos on myself and others; riding my bicycle; working on my house; playing D&D with the dumbest bunch of idiots in the land; playing board games with my wife, Tre.”

“I’m also a part-time printmaking hobbyist. That seems redundant but is entirely accurate. Risograph, letterpress, and screenprinting (until my wrists went kaput). I’ve done it all, here and there, and rather inconsistently (but damn do I love printmaking).”

“Speaking of my wife, between her, our dog Judy, and our cats Stanley and Otis, I’m doing pretty well during these very strange times. Tre works for a restaurant group here in Chicago and things in that industry are dicey. PLEASE if you have the means, support your local bars, restaurants, artists, etc.”

“Stay safe, stay healthy, try to not Redrum your family, and THANK YOU for supporting Field Notes. I literally wouldn’t have a job without you.”

Say hello back by posting a selfie of you holding a Field Notes product and tell us a little about yourself. Be sure add the tag #HelloFieldNotes to your post. Or send it to [email protected]  We’ll collect all the entries we receive and see on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, and randomly choose three winners. We will send each winner a rare, out-of-print Field Notes Edition from our archives. We’ll pull the winners from the entire pool of entries, so if you’ve already said hello, you’re in for every day’s drawing.

Winners and Prizes

Friday’s random winners are Kirsten in Canada, Tim in Michigan, and Shiftintomanic in Georgia. They will each receive the very-hard-to-find “America the Beautiful” Edition from the Spring of 2013. Each 3-Pack of those includes a sweet water-transfer decal too.

Today’s winners will receive a 2-Pack of the Note Book sized “Arts and Sciences” Edition from the Summer of 2014. The “Arts” Book is red with ruled and blank pages and the “Sciences” book is black with Engineer’s Graph and blank pages. We’ll also include the pair of matching 1½" buttons that subscribers received as a bonus. Tomorrow, another one of us will say hello, announce the winners, and let you know what the next prize will be.
